Locomotive graveyard. Lebanon’s ghost train stations stand frozen in time and choked by unchecked plant growth.

The first railway opened in 1895 under the Ottoman Empire. It ran from Beirut to Damascus. By the 1930s, Lebanon had joined the Orient Express network via the Taurus Express link through Homs.

After decades of decline and wartime damage, the final train service ran in 1990.
