So, I finally made a piece of #pottery I am genuinely proud of.

@Remittancegirl ooh, gorgeous shape and colours
@exlibrarykris I'm very happy with it!

@Remittancegirl The structure is beautiful and the glaze makes it look like someone just reached in and pulled it out of an oil painting.
@cwicseolfor Yes! It's a very unpredictable glaze. I gave it three coats, but I still can't figure out where it decides to show green and where terracotta. Doesn't seem to be a question of thickness. But I do like the result.

@pg1958 I think it's an ideal way to start. You get help, guidance on materials and techniques, and they do the bisque firing and the final firing too.
It's a really good deal.

@Remittancegirl @pg1958 Its a lovely shape!
@rejinl I am really proud of the shape. Because I really like those open wide bowls with a small, elegant foot. But they're a pain in the ass to turn - the walls can give up and flop inside out. I did lots of throws I had to scrap, but finally, I managed this one, with some judicious trimming at the leather hard stage. @pg1958

@Remittancegirl Looks good!

@ahimsa_pdx It's not half bad, is it?

@Remittancegirl love it. the shape, proportions, the distribution of colours (this depends a lot of the passage in the kiln, if i'm not too mistaken?)
