The delegitimising of protest, of making it something that families are physically afraid to engage in is a deliberate move by authoritarian regimes to make the majority in the middle toe their fascist line.
Indeed I think it’s the brutality and thuggery involving very young kids that is what makes ICE truly out of line with law enforcement in any civilised democracy.
How can other western leaders stand by while toddlers in the US are being bombed with tear gas?

@nek step one was putting local police in the protest, casually on the side of any peaceful protests
Witnesses. High credibility, unsmearable witnesses. People who can recognize agitators and false flag operations. Eyes, ears, discreet video, preferably from a static source volunteered by the business community.
Also, the city needs to support its citizens.
Step 2 is documenting all crimes, on both sides. Grasping the scope of the problem and the direction escalation is coming from.
