    You've seen how the monsters talk using email.

    Now imagine the conversations they had at night by the fire, high on designer drugs and the certainty of their invincibility, stinking of booze and their victims' fear.

    Now think of all the other billionaires who have islands.

      @Gustodon
      It all feels dehumanizing to me.
      Money costs one’s humanity. One’s very soul.
      Seems there is no bottom to it.

        @RiaResists At a certain point, wealth diminishes character. I think we have to accept that as an axiom.

              @chrisp @Gustodon

              Really? Gates owns more land in America than anyone else? Even more than murdering Saudi Dictator Mohammed bin Salman?

              I doubt it. I'll bet a three post apology if I'm wrong. Everything owned by the Saudis belongs to the killer, and for example, "they" own the Arizona watershed, and President Epstein.

                  @Gustodon

                  Wealth is not money.

                  Wealth is the stuff you need, like a house to live in, a stock of food to eat, and even gold bars and fancy paintings. It's other people's houses you rent to them, and shares in commerce that sells things.

                  Money is an anonymous promise that directs labour. It can be exchanged for wealth, but the actual function of it is to get people you don't know, to do or to have done things they don't want to do: for you.

                  But when money IS wealth, people can be owned.
