@larsmb using an induction stove and steel mokka pot you can reach temperatures way beyond tarnish colors. This can lead to material fatigue and tears in the pot - yes, been there, done that and no, the release valve failed marvellously.

@larsmb more a mess, than a violent explosion. But cleaning the kitchen before the first coffee, without the option of getting a coffee: my mood was dangerous.

@larsmb once forgot the seals on my Bialetti and the water pressure lifted up the coffee and it clogged the outlet on top (how's that thing called?) until pressure rose enough to... rapidly unclog it. I had a coffee explosion all over the kitchen...
