Some people in my real life circle and also in the Fediverse don't realize that engaging in a discussion is an investment in a personal relationship.

    That it's about exchange.

They suspect a potential adversary and bad intentions behind every differing opinion.
Why do so many claim to be "open-minded" when they can't tolerate the slightest differences? 🤔

It seems that in emotionally charged areas such as environmental and climate protection, nutrition, mobility, minorities and women's rights, it is often not enough that I also consider the problem to be really urgent—no, I am also expected to favor the same solutions and integrate them into my life in the same way. Otherwise, I am already considered to be among the opponents and the establishment.

      Why?

@weit_im_westen Oh, yes. The "everyone must do everything exactly as I would, and everyone who doesn't and everyone who talks to someone who even considers anything else is an enemy" mindset.

        Deep sigh.
