Hmm, dog found the critter responsible for eating stuff out of the garden... wood rat. My policy has been to mostly let the wood rats be (they were here first, they don't generally get into homes and roofs like Norway and Roof Rats). The rat got (another) pass this time after getting treed, but... Wonder if I should just keep giving it beer so it's too fat and happy and sleepy to eat the veggies and fruit?

#wildlife@ai6yr that’s a strategy I’ve not heard before. If employed on a human, they might move in and sleep on your couch. Maybe not so much for wood rat?

the trouble is that barley is technically a fruit and hops is technically a flower and therefore beer is technically a fruit salad and I suspect a trap of some kind. -
