    Yes, we have Fediverse IDs such as:

    @joeblow@example.com

    But a (non-delegated) public-key can function as a PORTABLE form of identity on the Fediverse.

      @reiver

      Would it be human-readable?

      IIRC on #ZeroNet #P2P, you "mined" for a few hours & got a very long string of letters & numbers for an ID (altho you could set a name & avatar to go with it)

        @klu9

        Regarding:

        "Would it be human-readable?"

        A public-key itself wouldn't typically be human-legible / human-readable, but —

        №1:

        You can have a representation of the public-key that is user-friendly, and —

        №2:

        You can (in a way) "attach" data to it that makes it (in a sense) human-readable/ human-readable.

            @klu9 FYI: with Autonomi anyone can register a human readable id that will work for anyone else using the same app.

            So if a user of the app knows your human readable id the app can verify that messages using the id come from you or are readable only by you.

            Essentially the app makes a key pair and stores the public part on the network at the address which is a hash of your public human readable ID. Anyone can use the app and your human readable ID to look up your public key.
