There’s a lot of circumstantial evidence that ICE is gearing up to directly target schools here. Without getting into details: they are casing schools and posing as community members.
While ICE has already come onto school grounds on a handful of occasions, include the terrible incident at Roosevelt High School, they so far have stopped short of directly targeting schools and schoolchildren.
We expect that to change. Everyone is on high alert.
I beg you, wherever you are, to show some kind of solidarity with Minneapolis-St. Paul this Friday:
(1) SHUT DOWN NORMAL: Whatever your normal Friday is, find a way to pause it, interrupt it, halt it…even if only a little. Normal life cannot continue unabated while this is happening. It is intolerable, and we must not tolerate it.
(2) TAKE ACTION: Whether it is marching, yelling, organizing, forming that Signal group, taking that observer training, making connections with neighbors, just having a potluck…do •something•.

@inthehands A teacher friend of mine elsewhere in the country is seeing reich-wing-aligned school board members pushing the idea that ICE should be allowed into schools, so it ain't just the assholes in uniform trying to make it happen.
My suspicion is, state media will try painting teachers as "woke commie liberals indoctrinating your children" or something like that when the shitheads face resistance.

@inthehands It's starting to sound like there's a new tactic they're trying of posing as reps from Indivisible who want to know everything about how community organizing is happening. Either that or Indivisible is doing some asinine "outreach" that will do more harm than good.

ICE appears to be attempting a repeat of the incident that started the thread: swarms of ICE vehicles attempting to box in and capture legal observers

I feel the need to stress, even though it should go without saying, that the person who was kidnapped out of their car was not obstructing or interfering. They were doing nothing illegal, and nothing wrong. They were part of a caravan following ICE at a safe distance, driving legally, not even stopping their crimes, not even slowing them down — just making sure their crimes were recorded.
@inthehands “Innocent until proven guilty,” is fundamentally the legal presumption, even with a far more “normal” government than the pack of lying scumbags we currently face, that what the government says is not to be taken as “true” until it has been proven with evidence. Beyond any reasonable doubt in the case of criminal accusations, and merely by the preponderance of evidence in less weighty matters. The word of a bunch of unethical thugs is insufficient.

It’s hard for me to imagine more clear-cut defiance of the injunction. These shits are trying to run the legal blockade by pretend pretending it doesn’t even exist — and Bovino is not only fully aware but physically present for it. Contempt of court is completely meaningless at this point; I dare any judge to prove me wrong.
