@Taweret Noozles.
It came on during the middle of the day on Nickelodeon, so I only saw it when I was home sick. Dimension-hopping koalas have to be a fever dream, right?

@Taweret there are several but this one stands out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinwheel_%28TV_series%29?wprov=sfla1

@Taweret Battle of the network stars (at least I wish it was a hallucination)
-
@Taweret Also Kidd Video lived deep in the back of my mind for decades until the modern internet managed to piece together some episodes and now I own an album of all the original songs from it because sometimes eBay is kind of magic.

@Taweret But seriously, there was show we would watch in first grade (1974-75) about a bunch kids who sang about the four food groups and some nutty teacher who was the butt of all their jokes. Anyone remember that?

@Taweret
For a long time, I couldn't find "UFO" (1971?), so I began to wonder if it was a confabulation. But I did catch up with it again in the 2000s. -
@Taweret
Oh god nobody has mentioned this one and it's a fucking doozyA show where the protagonist would go into a laser tag arena and shoot a pillar and then be transported to space to fight to save the galaxy.
No, really.
Even at the time it felt goddamn surreal.

@Taweret Some PBS-shown educational show (I think about math) where there were a couple young folks in a space station. There were computers with tape drives. This was 79-80, so skylab-era.
I only remember seeing episodes once or twice -- at least once was actually in class -- and I have never been able to track down what it was.
I assume it was some obscure AIT thing I'm misremembering, but I have no idea.
@Unlikelylass @Taweret Makes me think of Tomes and Treasures, which was a public television sci-fi show meant to teach about libraries and books. I watched it at elementary school in the 80s. For a while I think I was convinced it was Doctor Who, which it bore a fair resemblance to.
-
@Taweret I watched maybe one episode of Zoobilee Zoo (sp?) when we were staying at a resort (we didn't have a TV at home until later) and all I remember is that the costumes were Really Something. Like if you tried to recreate Thundercats in live action but also with birds and rodents and so on.
@liferstate @Taweret Of all the things I could think of that could have been a fever dream, this topped my list. But I think I was in or near my teens before I saw it, so I was quite certain it was real. The theme song was a powerful earworm, too.

@Taweret Jamie And The Magic Torch is the first thing that came to my mind but I’d also include Pigeon Street and Terrahawks in there as well.

@Taweret hallucinated as you remember it but can’t find a record of its existence? Or made you feel like you were hallucinating? For the latter I recall HR Puffinstuff, The Banana Splits , New Zoo Revue, and The Bugaloos.
No wonder I eventually ended up following The Grateful Dead each summer.

@Taweret Not an actual show, but the Donnelly Advertising Christmas Jingle. A local commercial. I really should report it to one of the lost media sites out there...I think I found the audio at one point, but haven't seen the full commercial. -
@Taweret The ultimate answer, though, is that we all lay dying of carbon monoxide poisoning and hallucinated “Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue” and we are now in Hell
@flyingsaceur @Taweret i rented this one from the video store as a little kid *so* many times, it was the only tape i ever wanted to rent for at least a year or two
-
@Taweret Eureeka's Castle isn't even that strange, but it's so Muppet-Like that I couldn't remember it clearly as a separate thing.
Looking it up, I see it was created by R. L. Stine. Yeah, that seems about right.
@apLundell @Taweret lmao whaaaaaat
i was obsessed with eureka castle as a kid but never had any idea it was rl stine

@Taweret Bobby's World

@Taweret Jabberwocky! it's pretty easy to see why it might seem like a hallucination (trippy opening credits after the short baseball sequence) https://youtu.be/VkOkw31XaHY?si=ilY4oJRwVcfTcHN2 thanks to YouTube I can now see those credits again but for 20 years I sort of thought I may have made them up.

@Taweret There was a time when I questioned if Doctor Snuggles was a childhood fever dream or not.
