    @jeridansky

    Yeah, someone described the track as "drunk auntie stumbling out of the casino on kitten heels" ๐Ÿคฃ

    @cafechatnoir That's a good one! I like Ryan Hall because he doesn't ever pretend to be more certain than he can rightfully be. And he pushes people to prepare.

    I know the DC area is also in for some pretty bad weather, but a whole bunch of snow isn't as dire as the major ice storm that other areas seem likely to get.

      @jeridansky I'm worried we'll get so much snow that trees will come down on wires and we'll be without heat until the electric company trucks can get through to fix it. Which can be a while with over a foot of snow and single digit temperatures making it difficult to clear roads. I'm reading up on how to get through days of very low temperatures without electricity.

        Yeah, I would much rather have snow than ice.

        While I miss Moxley the AwesomeDog all the time - I am glad I will not have to dig a path for him to use the bathroom.

          I just watched the latest from Ryan Hall. Although he makes it clear we're still a ways out from the upcoming storm and predictions can definitely change, it doesn't sounds good for my friends in Asheville and other parts of NC.

          Thanks, Jeri. Today's ice model is concerning. Keeping the phone charged, cooking a batch of pasta with sauce that'll last several days. Refrigeration is never a problem in this weather. I have a propane fireplace with full tank for heat. x

            @TheEddieShow Glad you're prepared. And so glad Charlene found you, so she won't be out in this storm and cold.

              @nancywisser Yeah, the trees coming down and causing outages seems to be one of the biggest issues so many places will be facing. Preparing to get by in cold with no electricity seems wise โ€” and I'm so sorry you need to be worrying about that.

                This was what it looked like for him from our back door in the 2016 storm.

                  @cafechatnoir I imagine it was no fun at all digging that path.

                      @nancywisser I hope you can look back, glad that the weather patterns shifted again and weren't as bad as they seemed they might be โ€” and proud of yourself for taking reasonable precautions in case the projected worst case came to be.
