    Amy Klobuchar couldn’t get a majority of the DFL straw poll vote in South Minneapolis — a measly 30% — and she is •running unopposed•.

    Shades of 2024 when a strong “uncommitted” primary vote for unopposed Biden presaged electoral disaster.

    Minnesotans, use this to light a fire under her. Harangue her office. And hey…maybe field a primary opponent. Freak her campaign and the State DFL the absolute fuck out.

    It’s a win if we get a better nominee •or• if we get her to show a little more fight again ICE and Trump.

      @inthehands Honestly, I'm not interested in pulling her to the left. I'm interested in seizing this moment to find and elect a governor who'd actually fight for Minnesotans. The success of Zohran Mamdani in NYC makes me want such a candidate for our state governor.

        @inthehands Maybe there's a democratic socialist who could run in the primary?

          We are fighting for survival at this point, and anything, •anything• that’s better is better. Utopianism is a luxury of the comfortable; excitement is a luxury. I’ll take every win, large or small. And if there is a Mamdani hiding somewhere who can win a statewide election, I welcome them — but the hour is already late.

            @inthehands

            I keep seeing DFL in posts about Minnesota and reading it as "Dead Fucking Last" instead of "Democratic-Farmer-Labor"

              @inthehands I'll also take every win, but I'm not sure more center-right DFL leadership is a win, so, respectfully, I disagree. I don't consider excitement a luxury but a necessity for the kind of popular turnout that moves the needle.

              Furthermore, change can come from what seems like nowhere. A year ago, I wouldn't have believed someone who told me that MSP has, in mere months, created a community network capable of a metro-wide alternative to policing, as well as mutual aid.

                @inthehands So the people who know her best ALSO don't like her. Good to know we weren't missing something.

                Oh, strong dislike. But let’s be clear: I’d take her any day over Susan Collins. And I’d take Susan Collins over the MyPillow asshole. There are levels.

                  @shinealittlelove

                  The lesson of living here in Minneapolis for the past two months is that sometimes you can and must fight a fight that you were not at all excited about, and that can be the most important thing in the world. That’s what I’m saying about excitement being a luxury. May the heavens give us a better candidate than her, but if it comes down to her vs the mypillow guy, then yes she is absolutely a 1000 times fucking better choice.

                    @inthehands Eh, I don't think the heavens are gonna give us a better choice. I think we, the people, are.

                      @inthehands I totally understand the need to support her over the MyPillow guy, but I sure hope a better candidate (who could win the general) appears and primaries her. Besides the lack of fight against ICE and Trump, she's just a horrible person — majorly abusive to her staff.
