@Bwee I answered the third choice as I wear glasses most of the time, but I have loss of peripheral and center vision that glasses can't fix, and even with correction things are more "flattened" as far as 3-D vision goes. Glasses do help with the general blurriness though, I have multiple pairs for different things.

I don’t wear glasses. Since I was a kid one eye focuses better at distance and one close up. I normally only see out of one eye at a time. I switch between eyes unconsciously — though I can also do it on purpose.
Strangely no problem perceiving objects in motion in 3d. I used to be very good at both throwing and catching while playing Ultimate Frisbee before knee issues.
Fine on highways or reading a book. Now I think glasses to read text on large monitors would help.

@Bwee@meow.social we're not blind, but we're supposed to wear glasses (we're probably slightly short-sighted, but in such a way that it would cause too much strain to have the same correction to see close and far, so we have progressive lenses. also we see double as soon as our eyes are slightly tired, so the bottom part of the glasses are supposed to help reduce eye fatigue)
in practice our computer screen is constantly at eye level since we rarely use laptops (and if we do, it's typically at work where we have a second screen) so we mostly wear them when we buy groceries or if we bike -

@Bwee *steps up and leans lightly on your fluffy post, which is very considerately placed so as not to be a tripping hazard ^v^* oh hi um oops yes we're blind. the human was born with failing vision which... well... failed. so we understand a lot of visual ideas and references, but don't actually do the seeing anymore

@Bwee i am between "i wear glasses and i can see fine" and "I wear glasses and they help a bit"
I can see fine but without glasses or long expusure to harsh lights give me migraine attacks.

@Bwee glasses make it good enough that it doesn't stop me from doing most things but they can't fully correct it (also annoying things like how if I tilt my head I can't see sharp anymore because the rotation of my eyeballs must be perfectly aligned with the lenses for me to see sharp)
I mostly have strong astigmatism and this also makes dark themes very straining to read on a good day (or unreadable if I already have eye strain). -

@Bwee I'm getting the point that glasses just aren't getting my sight back to where it was or where I would like it to be. Not blind just very very blurry.
-
@Bwee I'm kind of between "I wear glasses and I can see just fine" and “I wear glasses, but my eyesight still isn't great. I have a few different things going on that aren't all 100% correctable with lenses.

@Bwee@meow.social
I'm a bit in between. I do wear glasses and my vision is technically "ok". I don't see blurry and it's not required that I use a screen reader. But I wouldn't describe my vision as "just fine" so I answered according to that. Hope that's ok -
@pussreboots @Bwee There’s a lot of us I think. We fall in the cracks between “I can see” and “I can’t see”. It’s almost like a silent disability. Like I can see, but still use text to speech for longer things to avoid eye strain because I don’t have normal eyes.

@Bwee@meow.social I wore glasses for mild shortsightedness from the age of around 15 or 16. But after university I got a job at a laser eye surgery clinic and ended up getting LASIK for free, so since then I have been without glasses.

@Bwee I see badly, but I still don't wear glasses.
-
@Bwee I said "I wear glasses and can see just fine" because there's no blurriness but I did develop floaters recently which is annoying me. I also have astigmatism but I was born with that and didn't even realize it was abnormal for a long time so that doesn't bother me.

@Bwee@meow.social other: I'm developing some vision problems and will need glasses soon, but don't yet have or wear them

@Bwee I need glasses, but only a mild prescription. Once upon a time I could wear one pair for all situations and I wore glasses all the time. Now I need one pair for normal circumstances and another pair for computer/reading use, and it's a pain to swap between them, so a lot of the time I wander around away from the computer without any glasses on at all. Mostly the non-computer glasses get worn when I go outside, or at least significantly away.

@Bwee
Due to RA related inflammation (and becoming old), I have occasional vision issues that could be addressed by glasses, but they aren't frequency/sever/long enough to require me to use glasses/readers. -

@Bwee we can see okay at short distance, but not so well at distance and especially lights at night cause of astigmatism, so we wear glasses now
