Went to a Valentine’s Day themed lindy hop social today. Had tried to match my face mask with my outfit, and above by the theme.
Some person: it must be so uncomfortable to wear a mask like that.
Me: I prefer this over getting sick.
Person : of course! You do you! Don’t worry, you don’t need to be ashamed of that!C’mon. Do I look like I’m ashamed of masking?
Forgive the very sweaty bathroom selfie. It was a nice party and the band was excellent!

@anna lovely outfit and matchy matchy mask, hope you had fun! But I'm most envious of those excellent bathroom stalls with proper doors going down to the floor. I don't need my public stalls to be a setup for double slit wave interference pattern experiment but that's exactly what we have here

️@shom oh yes I’m getting a lot of milage out of that skirt. It’s compact enough that it is easy to transport to wherever I’m going dancing, and it pairs well with my favourite dancing Tees. Under it, I wear safety short with pockets for my phone and ID, so it’s very convenient for public events like the one I went to on Saturday.

Also, last week after dance class;
Person: am I correct in assuming that you mask to protect others?
Me: I’m masking to protect myself.
Them: given that it’s more effective if you mask to protect others than if you mask to protect yourself, isn’t that kinda pointless?
Me: given that all of you are constantly panting in each other’s faces anyway, wouldn’t masking to protect you all be even more pointless? -
