I've noticed a sharp change in how my squeamishness presents since I've started on HRT.

Prior to HRT, if I was watching something like a surgery on an animal on one of the various animal rescue youtube channels, I'd be a little uneasy and I wouldn't necessarily want to look at it, but that would be about the extent of it.

Since starting on HRT (estradiol, and progesterone more recently), I don't find it as visually disturbing, but I start to feel
not great, feel light headed, my ears start to ring, maybe even a little nauseous, but it felt like I was headed straight to fainting until I got away from what I was watching, laid down, and worked on some breathing exercises.

Last night I was watching a video that had a minor surgical procedure done on an animal in need of care, and the same thing started happening. I recognized the signs, so I shut it off immediately and prepared for bed (it was late anyway).

Can any of y'all relate to this? I'm curious about those on Estrogen and/or Testosterone.

I'm not even sure if HRT is the reasoning for this, but it's the only major change I can think of that has happened since I started reacting to stuff like that differently.

@maddy@thegayagenda.fans I've always been very disturbed by surgery or violence to animals. It's just a deep visceral repulsion. However, last night I noticed I was more disturbed by human body horror then I have been previously. I didn't really think about why, but I noticed the difference, and probably wouldn't have thought about it further without seeing your post. So maybe HRT? I donno... Curious now to see if the continues.

@maddy its weird because pre T, I definitely hated blood. I wouldnt feel faint, just nauseous. I found pre T that feeling would linger and it would take a while to fade. Post T I still hate blood, but it's as if I feel it all at once, rather than have it be drawn out. My call to action hits faster, and the reaction to flee comes sooner. Conversely, there are things that still make me uncomfortable but dont hit as hard as it used to. Pre T I would go into a full panic whenever I saw a bug, it would electrocute me, and my instinct to avoid it at all costs was completely overwhelming. Now, I still dont like bugs but instead I go into this weird calm focus, I need to kill it, I know my slight discomfort wont end until its dead. If I miss it becomes this weird challenge and I double down in besting this bug. I had no idea that the bug stereotype was real, but I swear its real.

@damonology@lgbtqia.space @maddy@thegayagenda.fans Interesting. I have never been bothered by blood, but since being on E, I've found I'm more aware of the scent of it then previously... weird.
