@imp3tuz thanks for sharing. very informative. I joined mastodon.social b/c it was one of the first instances listed on the join mastodon page. i had looked at mastodon.plus(mstdn.plus) also. since being here though i have found a few more instances that interest me.

@CathyBikesBook if I remember correctly some folks felt not welcomed and went back to shitter or to other corporate alternatives. Weirdly enough when I tried to interact with a couple of them I felt not welcome

Depending on your interests you could apply for accounts there, I'm sure the local timelines are great places for discovery. The local timeline of blacktwitter.io is also public so you could look there for accounts to follow.
