@shanmukhateja Looks to be another centralized platform trying to siphon off traffic from TikTok. They claim that decentralization won't work for the demands of a platform like TikTok, and so they're choosing to stay centralized, but they're closed source and plan to run ads. It's probably going to be run more ethically than TikTok, but I'd hardly call it anything other than changing who controls the short form video platform, rather than something like https://joinloops.org.

@shanmukhateja At this point, I assume that everything popular will be venture backed and centralized because I’m genuinely starting to think that users, quite literally, cannot handle having technology agency. They want to make content.

@WeirdWriter It is ironic that we live in digital world with “smart homes” yet we also have people who refuse to learn a newer way to do certain things.
I often wonder what happened to the tribalism within ourselves which I think contributed to the good old web 1.0

@shanmukhateja Obviously it is centralized, but I'd be glad to see it succeed just because of 'no algorithm'. Would definitely be a net positive to society if people would learn to curate their feed instead of letting 'algorithm' do it.
