@Bara_Coded @lashman unfortunately with stoat they decided against any federation protocols,, it's very small and fragmented. It's much more of an alternative for mumble than discord.

@raptor85 @lashman indeed it is small, there aren't a lot of communities or users. I don't think it was developed with the capacity to integrate with the fediverse. Is there another, fediverse-based Discord alternative?

@andycarolan @lashman I hope it’s the end of companies and people moving all discourse about their endeavours to Discord. Every one with dozens of sub topics. It’s impossible to keep track of.

Also there seems to be a compulsion to communicate solelywith animated GIFs rather than plain text as our creator intended…

@CTD @lashman I think people purely picked the likes of Discord because they were the easy route. I too have been guilty of responding with GIFs… but I wonder if forums would be any different now if they returned en-masse.
