@anthropy @samhenrigold as long as they find a DE that doesnt piss them off, why would it matter what linux distro a journalist is using? They’d be fine on an iPad or a Chromebook, but they’re choosing to have a bit of fun. I think they will be okay even if they have to download Chrome as a snap, as long the core OS packages don’t blow up on them.

@leaferiksen @samhenrigold ubuntu has ancient outdated packages except in snap and it looks like they're having issues with snap so clearly it wasn't the choice for them

honestly whatever they pick is less problematic than how many things they try; if you try a single linux distro and say "linux sucks" you're doing yourself as journalist and everyone who reads your article a big disservice IMHO
