More on the Palestine Action proscription judgement in the High Court yesterday. Following on from Mark Elliott's analysis (just re-posted) here is @davidallengreen take on the issue, focusing on the over-reach by both the previous & this Govt.
As DAG points out, while the Govt. will likely throw everything at the appeal, this is a high risk stagey likely to prompt further political humiliation.

@ChrisMayLA6 @davidallengreen it's honestly bizarre, because everybody I spoke to, just regular people, said how is any of this terrorist activity? How are they a terrorist organisation? Nobody thought they were terrorists, and yet still the government used that. talk about a bloody sledgehammer to crack a nut!

@ChrisMayLA6 @davidallengreen Labelling those who disagree with certain governments as terrorists seems to be all the rage at the moment. The Tangerine Terror does the same. Old Berlusconi used a similar trick to blacken the names of those who opposed him - he accused them of sedition.

@Tattooed_Mummy @ChrisMayLA6 @davidallengreen It has felt to me that they acted in a fit of pique after the business with PA painting the government plane. Didn't stop to consider the actual consequences of proscription, just had a moment of 'how dare they!'
My only hope is that future governments might learn from this idiocy: don't make extremely consequential decisions just because you're pissed off.

With regard to Palestine action Judgement.
Politicians must be made responsible for ALL of their actions.
That must include Financial reparation for abuse of power and all that follows that abuse.
Shabhana Mahmood announced she will appeal against a High court decision to please Labour financiers from Friends of Israel and ultimately the Genocide State of israel.,
Mahmood should carry the Full weight of that, appeal not the taxpayers

I remember a conversation I had with a law professor regarding the definition of terrorism and what will or won't be designated as terrorism, and the actions of the military won't be designated as terrorism because of the political repercussions for charging that.
This all makes a lot more sense if the definition of terrorism is actually: 'anything the government doesn't like.'
I also remember them taking about 'Environmental terrorism', I laughed in their face.
