Talking about election security would be a lot more productive if more people understood two things:
- The existence of a vulnerability is concerning, but does not by itself prove that an election was hacked or compromised.
- Losing an election, even one that you expected to win, is frustrating, but does not by itself prove that an election was hacked or compromised.

@mattblaze My wife and I are both IL election judges. We get extensive training on exacting procedures for registering new voters, verifying register voters, and helping anyone who wants to vote to vote on Election Day.
We are also trained on every aspect of the equipment at our precincts. I've even deployed and shut down an entire precinct's polling station via detailed checklists.
If the public knew all the planning and security that goes into securing their votes, their heads would explode.

@mattblaze @WideEyedCurious Operative words: βdoes not by itselfβ.
The Court of Public Opinion can be more powerful than SCOTUS, too.
