    It's pretty wild out there folks, #StormIngrid just quite literally blew my glasses off my face and across the road which has never happened before in all my years of being a speccy nerd. @SaintlySin had to chase them and retrieve them from the opposite gutter before a bus ran over them.

    @afewbugs @SaintlySin
    Oh wow, I hope they weren't scratched or anything, and the both of you are back inside where it's nice and warm.

    That's crazy though. I've worn glasses myself before (contacts now) I can imagine the amount of force the wind would need for that

      @Aprazeth I was lucky they weren't scratched or run-over or anything, and that @SaintlySin went after them like a terrier! It makes a good story because they weren't damaged but I'd have been a bit screwed if they had been!

        @afewbugs

        I can imagine, without my contacts I am unable to see anything recognizable beyond maybe a few centimeters? Brrr, scary thoughts (I do know the trick of using the camera on my phone in case something like that happens - so I can still see)

        @SaintlySin saving the day !

          @Aprazeth yeah I'd have been in trouble if I'd been on my own, I didn't even know where they'd gone beyond a general "that sort of direction"

            @afewbugs
            Well I am glad everything worked out!

            Also considering the cost and hassle of having to replace them. Oefff

            You could try adding a cord to them but ehhhh that's also a bit of a hassle at other times I suppose

                @afewbugs @Aprazeth I'm glad somebody clarified b/c when you said "before a bus ran them over...."
                I thought... a bus ran them over...
                We're just cold for here; 3 above right now; 24 km (15 m) / hr winds. Not the stuff of glasses blowing away.
                Math prof told class she's not taking attendance Monday and they should STAY SAFE. I like that Math Prof 🙂

                    @afewbugs @SaintlySin crikey! They should add ‘may blow glasses off’ to the met office yellow warning description of hazards.
