Arrogance / Exceptionalism. Thinking they'll blend in without realising not all Yanks are like that; not to mention that the ones that are don't care if you're a Brit, they have quotas to meet and bonuses to earn.
It is interesting which cases hit the headlines; or do I mean which cases do more people give a crap about?

Other cases referred are someone doing domestic work to pay her holidays under a touristic visa (work without permit), other come as tourist with tattoo equipment (to work the ICE supposed, as I would have supposed too), and other overstayed their tourist visa. No wonder they have problems.

The Schengen agreement in Europe has made people dumb?

The USA have always been the Land of the Shackled. An oligarchy where the rich owned people one way or another (and raped minors they considered their property). And the shackle should be their official symbol, not an eagle.
