ok so i scrolled through all results in the aur with the keyword "browser" and found literally nothing of valueturns out there's 3 kinds of browsers:
- google chrome → just. don't use this. there's so much bullshit ingrained into it, it's impossible to get rid of all of it. also... google.
- firefox → use librewolf
- webkit (including browsers that use gtk's webkit plugin) → chrome without the "chrome". should be good right? wrong. font rendering madness making everything look blurry -

Helium (as mentioned by Houl) is one of the latter
while i can see why one would use Librewolf, it is, for the most part, Firefox with a user.js and delayed security updates

@pastthepixels helium is chromium based and tries not to have anything google
@Houl yeag but like
idk if it's based on ungoogled-chromium but that left some references to gemini in and bwaa -

koff koff none of the above technically@pastthepixels@is.potatoe.ca marginally more seriously u have pale moon, netsurf, mozilla seamonkey, dillo
idk how bad qtwebengine is since it is techincally chromium but konqueror -

@pastthepixels @Houl huh.. ungoogled-chromium is generally very aggressive with stripping out google stuff, so that seems strange
fyi vel is on macOS atm (although there is no reason for the builds to be stripped down differently), but did not encounter anything on Linux either

idk how bad qtwebengine is since it is techincally chromium but konqueror@piku oh yeah i've tried all of these. the reason i don't wanna try konqueror is because qtwebengine is a little too close to chromium for my liking and i want to avoid chromium since google is in control of it, and thus by using it you get to use web standards dictated by google
i have tried the rest too! i found their ui's to be a bit dated and lacking though, which is, weh... -
