It has been raining continuously in #France for 37 days (thanks to global warming), the longest period since 1959. Those who are lucky only have damp walls, but many parts of the western country are flooded.

Even here in the mountains in the east, the ground is so saturated that you cannot walk on soil without high wellies.
But all that water is no protection against summer droughts! And for the mood ... πŸ™„

@NatureMC here in Cornwall, most parts of the county have seen rain daily since the beginning of the year, so I feel your frustrations on all counts. Plus we had a storm which brought 100mph winds and it’s so sad to see all the trees felled by it.

@NatureMC We've had two continuous months of snow. But the ground water levels won't recover. This might be the key argument that will stop the construction of an industrial poultry farm near us.

@Emmacox Oh yes, most people underrate the psychological consequences of the climate crisis.
We'll have more and more of these events (I still have to saw 2 big elder trees).

The newest problems are houses which develop huge cracks and simply break apart because the clayey subsoil alternately carries too much water or becomes hard as concrete. Some survived hundreds of years, several wars ...
