      A long time ago I was young.
      There were fewer distractions.
      The phone was stuck to the wall and there were rules about monopolizing because an important call might be missed.
      Personal information was shared by busybodies and gossip was currency.
      Most of us were boring.
      My embroidery skills did get attention though and my mother would use my finished pieces to bolster her position in her sewing circle as she offered them for sale. The money was to go to missions.
      Now I'm old and I stitch because it is a pleasant distraction.
      I so enjoy the positive feedback that comes from this Mastodon community.
      When you appreciate a craft toot or even note the effort it will make someones day. So thank you for tooting your love for handmade crafts and a special thank you to the folks who went out on a limb to let me mail them a towel.

        @FiddleSix
        I am thinking about stitching on a pair to wear them to protests. A carefully placed rainbow peace sign and flowers. Maybe a few bad words. Even a frog on one leg.

        That sounds excellent! I hope you will be able to do that... A thimble might be helpful, unless the jeans are aged and a little thinned...

                  @NorcalGma2 Very nice piece! Beautiful design and colors! I love your comment: "The phone was stuck to the wall..." Indeed. Nowadays, phones seem stuck to people's faces. 🙂

                        I am sorry that people outside the US have to pay a duty to get a towel of zero value. I did send two towels to the UK and was happy to pay the postage on my end but did feel bad that the recipient had to pay also.

                        It's just lovely to share vicariously in the kindness and friendship represented in these. And we remember why you are driven to keep making them and hope that things stay stable as long as possible. xoxo
