I've been looking for a new hair stylist since mine went total frothing at the mouth evil.
The first one I tried was my age and someone I went to school with. She struggled to know how to cut my hair and chopped at it with a razor for ninety minutes. It didn't turn out well.
My daughter felt sorry for me and put the word out that I needed a woke and skilled stylist. Not one or the other but both.
Her call for help worked and we got a great recommendation. She is kind, skilled and owns two Labrador Retrievers. We have compatible views.
I am one happy grandma to sport a haircut that doesn't require that I wear a hat to be seen in public and I found a new friend.

I'm glad you found someone! (Once upon a time, I had thick wavy hair. Finding someone who could give me a decent haircut was surprisingly difficult.)

We got haircuts yesterday, mine ended up a little too short in front... It'll be fine in a week or two.

However, I did teach myself how to cut short hair so I could do my spouse's hair. No salons for us for umpty-ump years, not even Super Cuts

This haircut was an extravagance for me. During COVID my hair got super long. My husband said that my ponytail obviously wasn't making me happy mostly because I whined a lot. My hair is so fine that I can't keep any kind of tie in it and it tangles just from trying to sleep with it.
Today's cut was expensive and I have a little bit of guilt but I am terrible at doing anything complex with scissors while looking in the mirror.
I find myself trying to balance that letting my appearance take a back seat worries my husband because he equates that with me not having enough time and resources to take care of both of us with the reality that I'm not twenty five anymore and maybe how I look doesn't matter.
For now it feels good to splurge a little. -
