I prepped the shitty, old one-bolt seat post quite carefully for the carbon rails.First, I took a triangular file and re-slotted the grooves of the semicircular tilt block piece, or at least the one half of it that is accessible to a file. This is so that the teeth mesh and less bolt tension is required to secure the seat against unwanted tilting. We don't want to overtorque the clamp on the carbon rails.Next, I took a small diameter round file and reshaped the abysmal clamp surfaces that mate with the rails to give them more of a smooth half pipe profile to mate with the carbon. I also took off sharp edges that could bite into the carbon.Everything appears solid. I didn't use a torque wrench, but I was pretty gentle. Rode on it for quite a number of kilometers now; appears solid.
