@mike @stuartyeates I agree with Mike that the level of effort is high and the chance of success low. But it might educate a few editors! Another method is to use PubPeer to point out the false assertions. That doesn't require persuading any editors. I wish I had time to do this (sporadically or systematically), but alas I don't. I don't assume that pointing out the false assertions on Mastodon is just as good, although it might be. Posting the errors in more than one place would be even better. Same with recruiting more people to point out these errors in the channels available to them.
