Well I decided "major substitutions" was preferable to having to put on non-pajamas and go for a walk in the sun (boo, hiss). I'm using a cake base recipe for a buttermilk cake that has all brown sugar, hence the light brown color of the batter. Will hopefully make up for no additional brown sugar in the topping. And yes, the lighting in my apartment is that weird during the day. I don't have the overhead lights on right now to even things out, so it's patches of sun and deep shadow.#EBTSC
