@johnefrancis I mean, UBI could replace EI in this scheme, if we didn't spend millions so Galen Weston could get new fridges. With EI (including Mat leave), if you're earning $X while collecting payments, your payments are reduced by $x/2. The problem with that is they do in a completely out of step, annoyingly bureaucratic, dance-for-your-dinner way that makes people either a) lie or b) not bother trying to earn a bit more. JUST make it UBI, and nudge the brackets, sort it by April 30th.
