@FediTips Mastodon won't let you change your vote, so yeah, editing poll options would be very tempting for abuse.My tip: If you vote on a poll and don't want your vote to get lost- also give the post a like. Then you'll be notified if the post is edited and you can vote again.

There are clients that can fill those out, but generally, for best access, try to keep them low, like maybe 2. If there are too many emojies in a username, I, for one, will just mute you for a while or scroll on by because it took 20 minutes to listen to your display name. Like I said, there are clients that filter those out too, but always good to keep in mind, what if someone were reading you Fedi over the phone. Would you want to listen to someone describe 5 emoji? @Stomata @FediTips

@cptbutton I've tried funkwhale, but there was no music available from artists I know, since they have to upload the music themselves. You can upload music too, but have to make sure (if you make it public) to not violate copyright law.I think there is no way of streaming that is in the advantage of artist and the best way to do it (in the disadvantage of not having access to all music and spending much money) is to buy complete albums directly from the artists either as CD or as download and store them somewhere central, like NAS, clowd or funkwhale with private upload, from where you can access it from all your clients you want to.

@sam @vega As Sam says, there's no official way for admins to change character limits on standard Mastodon. Those that do it have to edit several files and then re-do the edits every time they update the server software.

@FediGarden social.vivaldi.net could also be a candidate for this list - they maintain a 1337 character limit on their server.
