It's interesting to me how Danielle Smith's idea of provincial rights are all exercises in zero-sum politics. In order to Alberta to get what it is owed, the rights of others must be trampled.
Smith wants a pipeline built through BC, never mind what First Nations or BC thinks of this.
Smith wants to keep money for federal social program delivery without delivering the federal program, with no regard for other Canadian taxpayers who pay into it a functioning federal system.
No wonder these are the same nuts who believe protecting the rights of immigrants, protecting the rights of gendered or racialized people somehow takes away from the cis white group.
Rights are additive. It's built into the concept at its core. A right that tramples on another is not a right, it's a privilege.
