@catsalad It is hard to keep track of which browser we should be using and I had not heard that Brave was on the no fly list.
What is the current in vogue browser I can use on a chromebook (either as an android app or in Linux)? Vivaldi as an app had problems playing videos.
@human3500 @catsalad other than being a shit browser, Brave has the former CEO of Mozilla and creator of JavaScript at the helm.
He was already controversial, but the shitstain donated $1000 to Prop 8, the 2008 California bill to ban gay marriage. Then went on to be a remorseless crypto bro after being removed after only 2 weeks.
Today he’s a shill for crypto, and the browser is under a lot of suspicion of building their own closed loop surveillance under the guise of privacy.

I'm not exactly a fan of all pizza's but that doesn't mean I should harass the folks over on social.linux.pizza. Vivaldi and others have a presence here and that is a good thing. We need all kinds here if we are going to properly exist.
The article that Taggart linked seems to have settled a lot of the accusations it seems that were presented. Maybe?
I use Proton...Google went insane and I needed an online provider. I'm kind of hopeful I don't need to move on from them.

@jackryder @mttaggart @catsalad I don't remember them being harassed. I remember the CEO backing Trump, people here going "WTF?!" and then the doubled-down before leaving. There wasn't an explanation at the time. They handled it poorly enough that it made me concerned about how thin-skinned they are as an org and whether anyone can actually trust them against any kind of leverage.

I've been watching this new reality show "Suddenly Amish" about these people who are trying to join the Amish. While I'm not a fan of a lot of their beliefs and social order...

@cR0w @jackryder @mttaggart @catsalad there's an off the grid video years ago that I still watch occasionally. A snowboarder bought mountain property and built a small cabin on it then somehow got a ski lift out there and if I could just do that I'd be sooooo happy.

That's literally the job of the CEO. The guy who founded the company. The guy who is still the CEO of the company.
Yen (who is still CEO) represents the organization and sets the tone and agenda for the organization. It's his job. Claiming otherwise is lying and gaslighting.
