I saw the ocean today. It squeezed out from under the ice, and created little pools, randomly across the harbour. The seals used to pop up in this openings, sometimes lay on the ice by my garden out back. Haven't seen one (yet) this year, but I've seen the otter a few times. And surprised by the coyote, out in the open.
Sunrise is a little earlier now, so I'm busy running around with a camera from critter side to sunrise.
Nothing today.. well, I got the snowblower to roll over.. That would have been better 2 storms ago.
It was brand new, out of the box, and never used. It was seized and after freeing it up, there's a fuel leak.
I'll have it running by summer, I'm sure. 😆

I've got a bunch of stuff to do, like try to get a 4th vehicle insured. That sounds like we're sittin' fat on cars? Newish van, replaces rotting van. Rotting van just had new alternator $400, new steering rack $800, 4 extra rims with Winter tires.. now too rusty for the road.. It's always the rust. So, just then ....

the newesh van alternator went. Now. if this were summer, a few hours of fly bites and I would have removed the new alternator from my old van, and swapped it. But it was -11 C, and it's still not repaired. But, I bought another new alternator, for when the time is right. Meanwhile, we need a vehicle, so I bought a winter beater.. That's 3 cars insured. Only one being driven. Then my wife's brother died, and left his car with her. She needs to insure it to put a plate on. I'll pay for the 4th car, it's going back to 3 on the renewal. But we always need a second vehicle ,there's not bus here.

Funny thing happened. I have a rechargable doorbell cam thingie. But I never hear the door bell?
I moved the remote chime right beside me at the computer, and thinking it might need charging, I plugged it in (USB C) and while charging, the doorbell chime worked. When finished *charging* I put it back beside me on the desk and it never rang again. Charge, test, charge, test. Opened it up. It's not RECHARGABLE!

@Rasta Sounds like the device needs nonrechargeable batteries.

the camera part is rechargable. The portable speaker just has the option of plugging it in, or using three AAA batteries.. So, all this time, it just needed batteries? Who sells devices with one half rechargeable and the other half batteries?

We don't have cellular service, but we have a *landline* (They are all VOIP now) and I'm always somewhere else. Cordless phones are not very private, and I have to wait on hold, while holding a phone handset. So, I orderd one of those full headphones with microphone, like a gaming headset but plugs into the phone. I can keep typing while I am on hold. I would have prefered some form of cordless though. I used to have a cordless phone with a headset, great for working, I like that on the cellular, when in range.. using headphones, so you can continue what you are doing and talk longer .

Nothing I dislike more than being a phone victim.

            So, how was your day?

Three AAA batteries. Works fine with batteries. it wasn't CHARGING, it was just powered, without batteries .

@Rasta Oh boy, I wonder if there is a setting on that thing that would allow it to go to battery operated.

@Lstn2urmama Anywhere you are in Nova Scotia, you are never more than 55 kms from the ocean. There's no NON-SALT air here, like out west .Cars rust out before they engines get their mileage. Nothing new. And this truck got that way in the city

@Lstn2urmama Nothing wrong with the new not newish, brand new, alternator. But the van it was in, was in use at the time. Now, newish van, needs its own alternator, the irony, is they are the same one. But I can't take boht vehicles apart to swap, it's an all day job, and then the old van is no good. I still use it to pull my boat in and out of the ocean. Lots of good parts on it yet. So, we will live that new alternator in it, until it doesn't run. I might take i tout then, and my steering rack

@carrottop1023 These Made in China devices have 3 languages on a postage stamp, and a QR code to read, that says, that program is ended? It's clearly remote by plug or battery backup maybe
