      One of my favorite Trek stories is how Nichelle Nichols was about to bounce and literally the next day she runs into Dr. MLK Jr. who was like “You said WHAT?! No. You can’t leave. Do you have any idea how impactful you are?” For me, Nichelle is the OG and did so much for that positive vision of DEI (ok?!) that Gene was trying to show. Then you listen to like Whoopi and LeVar talk about how she impacted their own lives and careers. She’s just the GOAT.
