I saw so many trees I wanted to share here.
It would have been nice to have a minute to stop at the spectacular tulip tree next to the hospital, the giant tree covered in white next to the river or even one of the many newly blooming trees on main street.
Clearly winter is giving way to spring.
Instead I was rushing a sample to a lab that would be closing in a few minutes. I got there with time to spare except they had moved and changed their hours. By the time I drove to the new location they were closed. I could see people though so I stood in the window and held up my brown paper bag and looked pitiful. I wasn't even acting. I kept it up until they came to the door.
I'm not too proud to say I begged. I told them that I would be ever so thankful for help and that I would promise to come back with cookies tomorrow.
    They took my bag.
    His fever is high.
I have no shame and will do what I have to do.
No pictures for you though. You have to take my word for how beautiful the trees are.

Thanks for all of the good wishes.
We are doing better this evening.
The fever has come down to a more comfortable number.
I empathize with anyone who is a caregiver or a care receiver. We all deserve systems that work for us instead of against. Existing systems can be unforgiving but real people in these frontline jobs who have the power to make an exception or a difference often try to be helpful.
I hope the workers in these positions know that the fact that they can still acknowledge their humanity and mine is what will hold our fragile healthcare infrastructure together.
      They are appreciated.
I recognize that these workers aren't the ones making bazillions from our use of essential care. I will have to show my appreciation the old fashioned way with a small gift of appreciation.

@NorcalGma2 I know from experience how challenging (and exhausting) it is to be a caregiver. Your grace and kindness in a very difficult situation is inspirational.

@NorcalGma2 Glad to hear the fever is down, and wishing for an uneventful blood draw this morning.
