The percent of normal precipitation for the U.S. in December was above normal in parts of the Pacific Northwest and West. Precipitation was 25% or less of normal in the Central and Southern Plains and the Southwest. Precip was below normal across much of the eastern half of the U.S.
Temperatures were much warmer than normal in the West and cooler in the Northeast. -
