      I think the general rule is if chaps would prefer roles not to be defaulted to chairwoman for example, then probably best to de-gender it. I'm a male chairwoman doesn't sound good.

          @TheBreadmonkey I recall hearing ‘scientess’ on something, it was a black and white clip with that 1950s plummy voiceover style. Just looked it up and apparently it’s a word that exists. Gosh.

              @TheBreadmonkey The scientessiest scientrix! If we do want gendered terms (grammatical tradition be damned) we should use -trix and -tron instead. Everything would sound extra special then.

                @aegir @TheBreadmonkey The word scientist was invented for a woman. So technically it is the feminine version.
