    The Fediverse needs to be simpler!

    ❓ Could a browser plugin make life easier by allowing me to log into my Mastodon instance?
    Case 1: A WordPress blog is connected to the Fediverse via an ActivityPub plugin. There is a "Follow" button on the home page. Could the plugin allow me to simply click this button and follow the blog with my Mastodon account?
    Case 2: Could I also simply like blog posts on the blog in this way?
    3. Case: I want to grant an external service access to my Mastodon account. Currently, I would have to specify my instance there as well, etc.

    The plugin could modify the HTML, enter my instance there directly, and then change it so that I can click buttons as easily as I used to with Facebook-buttons.

      @kaffeeringe

      I agree. I remember when I tryed to connect with differents activitypub account
      But it is complicated. Try to connect with #peertube. You need to remember you ID and type it. No way to follow just by one click

      The same with other plateforme.

      Wordpress is half done. #fediverse is on the way

          @kaffeeringe modifying HTML is usually a bad idea and I also don't see the need. AP has an API and all the required actor info can be requested here.

          A button that sends the applicable data to your own endpoint is probably a better idea. That can exist on the browser's icon bar. Interfering with any foreign DOM automatically seldom ends well.

            Looking for that? While not a plugin it's getting there.

            I literally just saw it a few post down reposted by "Mr. Fediverse @dansup". Thought I share it here too.

              The simplest way ATM, is to copy the URL of the WordPress, peetube, etc. And past it in mastondon search. You can now see, follow abd interact with the post from there
