Honestly getting really tired of seeing all these takes where non-Usians are going "I guess y'all just want this to happen huh?" Meanwhile people are getting arrested mid news interview, and news outlets and social media actively repress any information.

You know it's interesting because when Putin did horrible shit, I saw posts going "The average Russian didn't want this we shouldn't celebrate sanctions making their lives harder" etc and things like that. But Trump, does something and all of a sudden it's "Every American is culpable for this and all of you deserve ridicule."

And this isn't the situation where it's like "I say American but I mean specific Subsections" I'm seeing people go through replies and say "We hate you because you personally, are doing Nothing
" I dunno I get it. But at the same time, I can tell it's coming from the perspective of someone who lives in a mostly Homogenous Country.
This is specifically about Europeans btw. Other groups get a pass.

@nyxallocer I suspect that the closer corollary would be whether the Ukrainian populace writ large would have expressed those concerns about the wellbeing of the Russian people - I suspect the answer would be pretty strongly tipped toward the "don't care" position. Now there are countries (Greenland, Canada, Cuba, Columbia, etc) whose people are looking at the USA and wondering if our nation is going to attack theirs.
It's much easier to take a broad view when your homeland isn't under threat of attack.
