@Remittancegirl @ilumium When you have >500k undocumented immigrants working or looking for a job (even a low paying one) in an economy that desperately needs workers -- mostly for low paying jobs, but anyway -- giving them papers means more people paying taxes, more people paying social security, less incentive for black economy.

I live in a very working class barrio with a lot of social housing and I have always been so happy at how welcoming and inclusive it is.

@Remittancegirl @ilumium I've lived in the poorest barrio and the richest outskirts of the same Spanish town and honestly, the proportion of hopeless assholes to reasonable and welcoming people is roughly the same.

FWIW - immigrants to Spain from the USA were very rare until recently. For some reason, lately I meet more and more of them.
