Last year was a shitty reading year. Didn't read much and didn't love much of what I read.
This year is starting a little better. That said, January often is a good reading month for me, so we'll see.I read five books in January, two in Finnish, three in English:
1. Lily King: Kirjoittajia & rakastajia (Writers & Lovers)
2. Lina Wolff: Rakastajat (De polyglotta älskarna/ The Polyglot Lovers)
3. Sara Gran: Come Closer
4. Kylie Lee Baker: Bat Eater
5. Terry Pratchett: Equal RitesThe highlight of the month was definitely Equal Rites, my first Pratchett. I've had the book on my shelves for a long time, but like with many other well-loved authors, it felt intimidating. What if - god forbid - I don't love it, when everyone else does? Someone gave me a nudge, and I finally gathered my courage and read it, only to curse my past self for waiting so long. It didn't quite make it to my favourites list but certainly opened a door to a world I want to explore more.
