This resistance had neither a unified leadership nor agenda; in fact, German resistance to Nazi rule was a broad effort by Germans who opposed Hitler and his fascist ideology. These Germans belonged to a wide category.

I'm always reminded how the "allied" powers not only tolerated but encouraged the rise of the Nazis as a bulwark to communism, but also a consumer of debt. Nazism was actively funded by those who ended up decrying and fighting against it. -
