Here’s a comment for the people who are upset that MN hasn’t charged Jonathan Ross already: If you just Leeeroy Jenkins this shit you will lose and you will empower fascism and murder. It is indescribably hard to prosecute cops for murder. It is even hard when the murder is ON VIDEO. /1

@kenwhite.bsky.social So, what's a more realistic expectation, then?

@jmax @kenwhite.bsky.social IF the MN prosecutors can secure enough evidence and produce a solid plan, both of which will take time, neither of which are guaranteed, THEN they will indict.
So, I would say: hope that that’s what they’re working on and give them the time they need to get it done.

@arcadiagt5 @kenwhite.bsky.social With respect, that's a cop out. When "give the professionals time to do their job" turns into "he got away with it", the excuse doesn't fly.
A reasonable amount of time to do the job properly is one thing; letting these people continue to get away with mocking the law is another. -

@arcadiagt5 @jmax @kenwhite.bsky.social Is State v. Chauvin an example of the kind of prosecution we could see here?
(Although part 10 (and also 9) will surely play a significant role in this case.)
(So Bluesky has a small post length limit too?)
