W3C Tech in the news: "EPUB won’t support HTML anytime soon, and here’s why"

"The Publishing Maintenance Working Group (PMWG), part of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) that sets open web standards, surveyed the industry in 2025 to determine if the EPUB ebook standard should allow HTML in the next EPUB version. Based on the results, the PMWG decided not support HTML in EPUB."
