Parting Glances.
December 4th 2025, 3:28 p.m.So one month ago, Chris and I went downtown to take some pictures at the soon-to-be-shuttered San Francisco Centre. This was the only shot I got. As soon as I raised my camera, a security guard stopped us and said professional photography was not permitted inside the mall. Chris said we were amateurs but the guard countered that our cameras were professional.
*sigh*
Farewell, giant shopping mall. You, like the dinosaurs, are a relic from the past.

@BobHorowitz You have been accused of professionalism. That's terrible

The shot is beautiful. It reminds me of a spaceship from a science fiction movie. -

Thanks, Andre
FYI, on the other side of the mall, there's something far more magnificent: the 1908 dome of the Emporium Department Store, raised up and reinstalled in the newer mall when it was built in the 1980s.
I didn't get a chance to photograph it last month with my wider lens, but this is what it looked like when I shot it 11 years ago.

@BobHorowitz Great shot of the dome. I sure hope it finds a good home — in place if they re-imagine the mall building or somewhere else.
