I'll believe politicians care about kids when all of Epstein's friends are in prison, schools are properly funded, people have to vaccinate their kids again, the data harvesters and sellers are out of business, abortions and trans healthcare for minors are legal again, we aren't sending bombs to kill kids overseas, and a hundred other problems receive the attention they deserve.

Like, at least focus on the rich pedo cult and the CSAM website formerly known as Twitter before just dropping out of the sky to complain about kids hanging out online.

Every adult and family member who hurt me said it was for my own good, too.

Most of the 'children need protecting from all these terrible ideas ' types aren't even parents, I keep noticing ( or have grandkids)

Kids are pretty perceptive, and if you actually tried talking to a 10 year old you might be surprised at how quickly they can catch up to speed on subjects and converse on them. Treating them like they cannot possibly think, or be taught, is so deeply strange. It takes like 10 minutes to give them a basic grounding in economic theory and Marx .

@gwynnion It almost always means "for the benefit of people who want to control and possess children" instead of "for the benefit of the children."

@gwynnion they're pushing hard to repeal section 230, which basically exists to protect free speech on the internet "to protect the children." It's always a popular red herring, because "who doesn't want to keep the children safe!?" So you get framed like a really big jerk for pointing out the redness of the herring.
