"Jeffrey Epstein was not a self-made man.

"'I’ve known you for ten years. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a smile on your face,' Trump said bitterly.
'Well,' Collins interjected, 'I’m asking you about survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse, Mr President.'
Ignoring her reply, Trump continued his rant: 'You know why you’re not smiling? Because you know you’re not telling the truth. And you’re a very dishonest organization, and they should be ashamed of you.'"
@wdlindsy The thing to do when a RWA uses rhetorical tricks like this is to interpret their answer in the way that reflects worst on them, and then spell it out -- in this case, something like "So you admit you would not be able to face the survivors, given the crimes you are excusing?"
They love to use ambiguity to their advantage, but it works both ways. So does negging -- especially around thin-skinned petty wannabe-dictators.

“'What would say to people the survivors who feel that they haven’t gotten justice?' [CNN's Kaitlan] Collins asked [Trump].
'You know, you are the worst reporter,' Trump said disdainfully. 'You know, she’s a young woman,' Trump said the Republican lawmakers arrayed around his desk. 'I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile,' he said, turning back to Collins."

@wdlindsy Yet another way to NOT answer the question.

"who now admits to doing some serious partying with Jeffrey Epstein in the years after Epstein’s conviction on charges of procuring a child for prostitution. Partying with Epstein, Blanche assures us, is 'not a crime.'
See how it works?"

/19Much of high society knew what was happening on Epstein properties. . . . yet did nothing to stop it.
That too is a crime.
We need a new way.
