@mttaggart I really hate a world that has me agreeing with a head of the Catholic faith.

I was raised Catholic, I know the ick they bring.

@nuintari I have a complicated history with the Church. At one point I was discerning for priesthood.

It is as bloody and poisonous an organization as there has ever been. And yet, there are believers who strive for the grace that the Church purports to expound. The Pope seems a good man, and he'd be that with or without the ferula.

@mttaggart I will admit, the current pope seems half decent. But he is still standing as the figurehead of a massive pile of abuses.

Myself? Excommunicated Catholic. I literally renounced my faith before a man of god(a bishop) at my "confirmation." One of the only ways to be excommunicated anymore, and I am.... rather proud of it.

And technically.... not my only reason for my status.
